Group 2: Tiger Drummers for  grade 7-8: drummers and percussionists with two or more years of experience playing the instrument.  Monday-Friday from 12:15 pm-3:15 pm, Friday, July 25, dress rehearsal at 9:00 am, Concert Friday, July 25, 2008 at 7:30 pm.  NOTE: If you finished 8 grades on June 2008 you should be in this group  Click here: REGISTRATION ON LINE

Each class is different and challenging and all music is especially composed and arranged by Luis Garay according to the abilities of the students.  This exciting "Week of Percussion" concludes with a spirited, high-energy concert showcasing the skills acquired by each of the classes.  Each class will have nine students.

The seminar is open to students from grades 7 through 8 who play any percussion instrument. The seminar is looking for enthusiastic, young drummers and percussion players who have talent and potential, both those who are preparing for a career as professional musicians as well as those students who love to play drums or percussion instruments for fun and enrichment.
 

Seminar will be in the John Paul Hall and percussion room, Benjamin T. Rome School Of Music, Catholic University Of America, Washington, DC

Want to be part of a dynamic performing ensemble? Excitement, energy, and inspiration are the soul of this program.  There is plenty of opportunity for individual creativity and spontaneity enthusiastically provided by master instructor, Luis Garay. He helps his students appreciate the passion and inspiration of the drum and experience the joy of rhythm and the fun of creating music through Afro-Latin Rock, Jazz, and African World percussion. 

The seminar is open to students from grades 4 through college who play any percussion instrument. The seminar is looking for enthusiastic, young drummers and percussion players who have talent and potential, both those who are preparing for a career as professional musicians as well as those students who love to play drums or percussion instruments for fun and enrichment. Participants will improve their percussion skills through this fun and exciting week of percussion.  In this exhilarating class, everyone will get to play in the groove, progressing from basics to more sophisticated rhythms, and finally to ensemble literature as they learn to converse in the "universal language" of music.

There will be three performing ensembles according to the student’s level and age.
