Private lessons are open to students who want to learn any percussion instrument. Mr. Garay is looking for enthusiastic drummers and percussion players of all ages, those who are preparing for careers as professional musicians (classical or popular music) as well as those students who love to play drums or percussion instruments for fun and enrichment.
Some of Mr. Garay's students have won positions in professional Symphony Orchestras.
Mr. Garay's students have won honors at the middle school, high school and college levels.
Some have gone on to become professional musicians.
Several of Mr. Garay's students auditioned for and participated in the Maryland MS and HS All State Bands and Orchestras.
Mr. Garay's students have been accepted into the music programs of: Berklee School of Music, College-Conservatory of Music of the University of Cincinnati, University of Maryland, University of Texas, Catholic University of America, Loyola University New Orleans, Temple University, Towson University, Millersville University, Shenandoah University, University of Colorado, Boston University.
